Alexis Sanchez could yet stay at Arsenal next season, according to Chilean paper La Tercera.

  • La Tercera say that Alexis will honour his contract at Arsenal
  • They also claim there’s still a chance of a new contract being agreed
  • Alexis has reportedly gone on holiday without telling the club his decision

Unfortunately, there’s no immediate end in sight for the Alexis saga.

The uncertainty surrounding his future was expected to disappear this week after he returned from international duty with Chile, but it appears we’re no closer to a resolution than we were at the start of the summer.

Chilean paper La Tercera have pitched in with their view, and they believe that Alexis will be staying at Arsenal.

While they say that Alexis has gone on holiday without informing the club what his decision is, they claim that he’ll honour his current contract with Arsenal and could even sign a new one.

Having spent most of the summer so far fearing he could be sold to Manchester City, Arsenal fans have been offered a bit of hope.

This is despite claims from the English press that Alexis wants £400k per week to stay at Arsenal.

There’s a feeling that Alexis will stay, even if he doesn’t sign a new contract.

While it’s not the ideal scenario, it surely beats selling the player to a Premier League rival.
