Barcelona officials are set to travel to London after Wenger meets with Bellerín, according to reports

The Express are reporting that once Wenger has met with Bellerín to decide his future, club officials will be ready to travel to London immediately pending the outcome of the meeting. In real terms it’s unclear what this means, that they’ve packed their bags ready for the trip? Booked their flights? Cleared their schedules?

It seems unlikely that the outcome of a meeting between Wenger and Bellerín would be anything other than that the club wants him to stay, as he is a promising player with a high ceiling in a position that the Gunners have limited options for. If Bellerín did want a return to Catalonia, there’s no rush, his contract ends in six years and even then he’ll still be in his twenties.

The best option for both therefore seems to be for him to stay and continue his development under Wenger, then make a decision about the later part of his career in a few years time. There isn’t much to suggest that this isn’t the option they’ll decide upon either, so for now this story is a non-starter.
