Another week, another ‘ultimatum’ for Hector Bellerín as Barcelona’s interest in the Spaniard refuses to go away.

According to a report by Spanish newspaper Don Balon, the La Liga giants are impatient and not prepared to wait until the end of August for Bellerín to convince Arsenal into letting him leave.

Newly-appointed manager Ernesto Valverde has already reported drawn up a list of defensive alternatives at fullback that Barca can go and target, though it’s clear that the 22-year-old remains their main priority at present.

Arsenal’s squad is undergoing a complete overhaul, if reports are to be believed, after Arsene Wenger’s men finished outside of the UEFA Champions League places for the first time in two decades last season.

Bellerín, who disappointed many with his inconsistent performances following a return from injury midway through the campaign, may feel indebted to Arséne despite Barcelona’s continued interest.

As a result, the next few days are said to be important for both parties as it could be make-or-break time.

Arsenal are adamant that Bellerin is going nowhere but, just like with Cesc Fabregas, we all know that Barcelona will eventually get their way. We can only hope that it doesn’t sour the relationship between fans and the player when it finally happens.
