Arsenal are unwilling to meet Leicester’s £50m valuation of Riyad Mahrez according to reports.

  • Leicester want £50m for Mahrez
  • Arsenal value him at £35m
  • Reports claim Mahrez’s indifferent form last season is the reason for Arsenal’s reluctance to spend big

By now, we all should know the story around Arsenal’s interest in Mahrez.

Mahrez wants to leave Leicester. Arsenal are interested, but will only make an offer if they can’t get their first choice, which is Monaco’s Thomas Lemar.

With Monaco apparently asking for £80m for Lemar, many believe that Mahrez is the more likely acquisition.

However, the Daily Mail claim that Arsenal do not want to pay Leicester’s £50m asking price.

They say that Arsenal want to pay £35m.

They also claim that Mahrez’s indifferent form last season is the reason why Arsenal aren’t willing to meet Leicester’s valuation.

If that were the case, you’d wonder why Arsenal would want the player to begin with.
