Arsenal have been told to forget about signing Arturo Vidal this summer by Bayern manager Carlo Ancelotti, if you can believe that.

Arsenal were apparently linked with Bayern midfielder Arturo Vidal recently. You’d think that’d be big news, given what a quality player Vidal is. The source, though, isn’t great, with talkSPORT claiming it originated from Mediaset Premium.

These reports state that Bayern have told Arsenal and Chelsea to forget about signing Vidal because he happens to be quite good and important to them. That’s about the only part of this that makes sense.

In an otherwise sparse report, talkSPORT claim that Ancelotti has told Vidal that he is a key part of his plans for next season. I thought that was already a given.

The 30-year-old would be a dream signing fir the Gunners, but sadly one that will always remain a dream. Even in today’s crazy market, Arsenal aren’t about to sign players like the Chilean midfielder.

The reports seem to based on Leon Gortezka’s move to Bayern Munich. It’s believed the 22-year-old will join the bundesliga champions on a free transfer next summer, which could see Vidal make way.

It’s far more likely that Bayern will have both of them in the squad to bosost depth, as that’s what top clubs do. They keep their best players and add more quality on top of them.
