Arsenal are reportedly going to sell five players this summer in order to revamp their squad.

Jack Wilshere, Lucas Perez, Kieran Gibbs, Mathieu Debuchy and Carl Jenkinson are all reportedly set for the chop as Arsenal look to freshen up their squad ahead of the new season.

Not only does ‘dead wood’ take up squad space, they take up wages. Wages that could be spent towards keeping big players at the club or signing new men who could add depth.

While none of the rumoured outgoings will be a massive surprise considering most people aren’t sure that some of them are even alive, Wilshere’s departure is bound to make waves.

As a product of the academy, the midfielder’s a fan favourite and many see him as mostly unlucky since his injuries are what have held him back.

West Ham have been linked with a move for the England international, while Gibbs has been linked with Watford and West Brom, and Lucas has been linked with just about every club in Spain.
