Bayern Munich have landed Real Madrid forward, James Rodriguez, with an option to buy, suggesting that the Bundesliga club have officially given up on signing Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.
- Bayern Munich sign James on two-year loan
- Loan move suggests Bayern have given up on signing Alexis
- Wenger denies that Sanchez wants to leave
Now that Bayern have landed a talented forward in the form of James, it’s looking unlikely that they’ll also try and nab Alexis.
Rumours linking the Chilean to Bayern have gone quiet in recent weeks after the German club were reportedly ‘priced out’ of the running by Alexis’s massive wage demands. However, Arsenal were said to be willing to sell to them rather than rivals Manchester City.
Arsene Wenger, however, has always said that the 28-year-old will stay at Arsenal.
Gooners seem pretty confident that the Gunners won’t sell their best player to City and with Bayern out of the running, it does really look as if Alexis might be staying.
Needless to say, they’re pretty pleased.
Here’s how Arsenal fans reacted to James’s move to Bayern.

Arsene Wenger hints Alexis Sanchez might stay just hours before James Rodriguez takes a key spot at Bayern. Quietly good day for #AFC?

It looks like Alexis, OX, Bellerin, Giroud etc, they're all staying. Wenger is having none of it. And Lemar looks incoming. Jeez. #afc

With Alexis staying, signing Kolasinac, Lacazette and possible Lemar will make us EPL Champions comes may.

Happy that united and Chelsea aren't getting the gem that is James Rodriguez. Will do well in Bayern. Hope that ends their Alexis interest
