Inter are reportedly leading the chase for Nice defender Dalbert Henrique, having edged themselves in front of Arsenal and convincing the player to choose the San Siro over the Emirates.

According to the Metro, Dalbert has made up his mind on his future and is keen to make the switch to the Italian Serie A this summer.

The Brazilian has a release clause of around £26m which club will need to pay to sign him but there’s little suggestion Arsenal will meet the asking price in time before Inter compete a deal.

Manager Arsene Wenger is believed to be very keen on the left-back, considering him as a secondary option to new-boy Sead Kolasinac, with Nacho Monreal to be a centre-back next season and Kieran Gibbs up for sale.

But it’s unknown how much the Gunners will realistically pay given their movements in the transfer market this summer. They could well be forced to watch him join Inter as a result.

Arsenal are lining up deals for more offensive players ahead of the new season so they won’t want to break the bank for a left-back, given they already have three in the squad.
