Arsenal are determined to keep Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at the club for another season, despite Manchester City and Liverpool targeting the pair for a combined £75m.

According to the Daily Star, Liverpool have been told that £25m-rated Oxlade-Chamberlain is not for sale, while Manchester City’s reported £50m approach for Alexis Sanchez isn’t possible due to Arsenal’s reticence to sell to a Premier League title rival.

The Gunners would be willing to allow Sanchez to go to Bayern Munich this summer if the German Bundesliga side meet their demands. However, Carlo Ancelotti and the club president have hinted they don’t have the finances to sign the Chilean.

Manchester City do but Arsene Wenger is resisting their interest. As for Liverpool’s pursuit for Oxlade-Chamberlain, Arsenal have tried to offer the midfielder a new deal to keep him at the Emirates Stadium but haven’t made much in the way of progress.

To lose such valuable players for nothing next summer would be a big blow but seems to be the only option as Arsenal don’t want to strengthen a rival.
