Arsenal have reportedly presented Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio with a ‘huge offer’ as they try to lure the 21-year-old out of Spain.

The report, which appeared in Don Balon, claims Arsenal are interested in signing the left-winger who enjoyed a breakthrough season with Zinedine Zidane’s men last season. I gues they would have to be keen if they were making him an offer.

Zidane here could be key, however. Asensio previously spoke about how he idolised the Frenchman when he was growing up and the youngster doesn’t seem to be in any rush to leave him.

Asensio is certainly one of the brightest prospects in Spain and it’s hard to see Real Madrid letting him go easily. He made 38 appearances across all competitions for them last season, scoring 10 goals and making four assists.

Half of his appearances came from the bench, however, and the player still doesn’t seem to the full trust of Zinedine Zidane in the first team squad.

Asensio started his career with Mallorca’s youth sides before Real Madrid eventually bought him for €3.5m in the summer of 2015. He spent the previous season on loan at Espanyol where he made 37 appearances and scored three while assisting 15 times.
