With Ospina looking as if he could be signing for Fenerbahce after all this summer, Arsenal are on the look-out for a new goalkeeper, and with Toulouse boss, Pascal Dupraz, ruling out a move for reported target Lafont, the Gunners’ focus could turn to Saint-Etienne’s Ruffier.
According to le10sport, Arsenal watched Ruffier back in April during Saint-Etienne’s 1-1 draw against Nantes and while they appeared to be pursuing Lafont instead, Dupraz’s revelation means they could turn their attention fully to the Saint-Etienne shot-stopper.
Ruffier is the Ligue 1 side’s number one, making 41 appearances over all competitions and keeping 15 clean sheets, despite spending 56 days sidelined with abductor problems.
The 30-year-old signed for Saint-Etienne from Monaco in 2011 and still has four years left on his current deal in France.
