Arsenal are reportedly eyeing up a move for Leeds goalkeeper, Rob Green, as they face the prospect of heading into the new season with hardly any keepers of their own at the club.
David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny have both been heavily linked with moves away this summer, though neither player has indicated that they will definitely be off before the new season starts.
Emi Martinez had been tipped to take up the role of number 2 at the club.
Now, however, the S*un on Sunday are reporting that Arsenal could move for the 37-year-old Green who was widely held as a figure of amusement when he wasn’t 500 years old.
Unless the club are planning on loaning out Martinez and leaving themselves with two geriatrics as their first and second choice keepers, this rumour makes absolutely no sense.
Green has one year left on his contract with Leeds, a club who have just signed Felix Wiedwal from Werder Bremen. He played 46 Championship games last season, conceding 47 and keeping 15 cleansheets.
