Alexis Sanchez will be offered a new contract worth £275,000-per-week, setting Arsenal back over £14m-a-year, according to latest reports.

According to The Sun, Arsenal have made this new offer to try and convince Alexis to change his mind after comments made about wanting to play in the Champions League, something he cannot do currently with the Gunners.

The £14.3m-per-year contract offer is the latest in a long list of reported new deals being made to Alexis. Arsenal have been linked with offers anywhere between £200k and £400k-per-week, with a different figure appearing each time.

Arsenal have made him a good offer but the issue appears to be his Champions League aspirations, or so he says. Arsene Wenger needs to convince him to give up on the top European competition for a year in the hope that Arsenal will return in 12 months, but the Gunners can’t be held to ransom by one player.
