Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has been spending some of his time on holiday to practice table-tennis skills.

The Switzerland international, who got engaged to his girlfriend Leonita Lekaj last week, has enjoyed an eventful summer break following exploits with Arsenal during a long first campaign in England’s top flight.

In a video that he posted on Instagram, Xhaka is playing ping-pong and comfortably beating his opponent before issuing a friendly challenge to those who think they can beat him next.

Dominating the rallies with relative ease, his frequent use of slice shots and a powerful stroke mix make his returns tough for the opponent – presumably a friend of his – to predict and respond accordingly.

Xhaka has already updated his social media today thanking the hotel staff and everyone at Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya in Mexico as their holiday is coming to a close, with pre-season training set to begin next week ahead of the forthcoming campaign.

He’ll be hoping to replicate his success from table-tennis on the pitch next season and beyond, with Arsenal keen to improve after a disappointing overall season.
