Arsene Wenger has said he’ll be on alert “24 hours a day” as Arsenal gear up for a busy summer.

  • Wenger wants business to be done before Arsenal’s tour of Australia in July
  • Has previously said he only wants to sign two or three players
  • Arsenal have been linked with several big money moves

This could be a significant summer as Arsenal look to add to their squad while also tying up new contracts for key players.

So far, only Sead Kolasinac has been signed, and Wenger wants more business done before Arsenal set off for Australia in July.

“Between now and the tour we will work every day to get the best possible environment around the team and to strengthen the team,” he said, as reported in the Standard.

“That’s basically a lot of dark, invisible work. But that is demanded and that means never leave your seat without your phone, never go to bed without your phone, because anything can happen. We will basically be on alert 24 hours a day.”

After signing his new contract, Arsene Wenger, along with Ivan Gazidis and Stan Kroenke, said that Arsenal’s goal is to win the Premier League and that they’ll be working very hard to accomplish that.

Wenger was also keen to point out that he feels his squad only needs two or three new additions and not the overhaul many fans have called for.

Arsenal have been linked with big money moves for several players already, such as Virgil van Dijk, Djibril Sidibe, Jean Michael Seri, Thomas Lemar, Alexandre Lacazette and Kylian Mbappe.
