Wojciech Szczesny wants to stay at Roma, according to Roma president Jim Pallota.

  • The Polish keeper has been linked with a move to Juventus
  • Szczesny is likely to leave Arsenal this summer

Szczesny has spent the last two years on loan at Roma and his performances have drawn the attention of Champions League runner-ups Juventus.

Reports recently have suggested that Szczesny could join Juventus to shadow Gianluigi Buffon for a season before eventually taking over the number one shirt, however Woj’s agent denied a deal had been done.

Besides Juventus, Napoli have also been linked with him. Roma’s name hasn’t come up as often as you’d expect it to.

Their president, Jim Pallota, believes the keeper could stay at Roma.

“He told me that he wanted to stay with us,” he said. “I’ll say more, I was surprised by the fact some of the players I thought had wanted to leave came up to me before and after the final game to say they wanted to remain.”

This may suggest that Roma will try and sign Szczesny on a permanent basis, should the price be right.

Arsenal are unlikely to stand in the keeper’s way, as they plan to have Petr Cech continue as first choice keeper.
