Simon Kjaer is a central defender who plays for Fenerbahce and has been linked with a move to Arsenal.

The Danish defender was one of the pillars of Fenerbahce’s defence last season, and now Arsenal are looking into the possibility of adding him to their squad ahead of the new season.

Next, Kjaer’s strengths
Strengths
At 6″2′ and just over 14st, he is one of the toughest defenders in the game. His strength shows in every duel he makes and he’s also good in aerial battles, winning just less than 70% of all high balls.
His tackling is also very good and the player’s strong determination to win the ball often puts his opponents under a lot of pressure. He makes an average of 1.5 tackles, 1.5 interceptions and 3.8 clearances per-game.
Kjaer is also one of the rare central defenders who often gets a chance to test his ability from free-kicks and even scored one of his goals last season via this route.
Next, Kjaer’s weaknesses
Weaknesses
His determination to win the ball and stop attacks can lead him to breaking the rules, and even though his disciplinary record isn’t that bad, four yellows and one red card, he should still put in some work to improve his approach.
The player doesn’t seem to have any other major weaknesses that would require additional work.
Next, Kjaer’s future at Arsenal
Future at Arsenal
Simon Kjaer is hitting his prime years as a defender, and with his experience in multiple leagues, he could be a great asset in the defensive department of the squad.
His strength and determination have made him succeed and overcome any obstacles and the player shouldn’t have any problem with transition to the Premier league.
With the mindset of a leader on the pitch, he has lead Denmark in over 60 games and even at Fenerbahce his presence is felt on the pitch.
That kind of mentality would do wonders in Arsenal defence, and when paired next to Laurent Koscielny, the duo could push the team even harder to succeed.
