Ex-Arsenal player Serge Gnabry will leave Werder Bremen this summer after a successful season.

  • Arsenal allowed Gnabry to leave last summer
  • The German scored 11 goals in a breakthrough season at Werder Bremen
  • Gnabry will leave to take a step-up in his career

Werder Bremen have confirmed that Gnabry will activate a clause in his contract that will allow him to leave the club this summer.

The 21-year-old scored 11 goals for Bremen and bagged a hat-trick on his Germany debut against San Marino. Reports in Germany indicate he’ll be joining Hoffenheim and playing in the Champions League next season.

Gnabry was allowed to leave Arsenal last summer as the German looked for more first team football.

Long-term injuries prevented Gnabry from building on his initial breakthrough in 2014, where he looked set to play an active role in Arsenal’s squad.

Now he’s proving his talent elsewhere, it looks like Arsenal may regret letting Gnabry go so early, especially for such a low price.
