Riyad Mahrez has asked Leicester to reduce their asking price for him amid interest from Arsenal.

  • Mahrez wants to leave Leicester for a bigger club
  • Leicester are demanding at least £40m

The Algerian has reportedly urged Leicester to lower their asking price as he tries to engineer a move way from the King Power Stadium.

Leicester want at least £40m for him, which could put off potential suitors Arsenal, Tottenham and Monaco.

Mahrez handed in a transfer request this week as he feels he can play for a bigger club.

Arsenal had interest in the player last summer, but he was committed to giving Leicester one more season as the Foxes entered the Champions League for the first time.

Back then, he signed a new contract with the club, but didn’t negotiate a release clause, allowing Leicester to dictate the asking price.

Arsenal are said to be willing to spend big this summer, but could still be deterred by Mahrez’s price tag.
