Henry Onyekuru revealed that he has spoken with Alex Iwobi about Arsenal while the pair are on international duty with Nigeria.
- Nigerian forward could be joining Arsenal this summer
- He’s spoken with Alex Iwobi about the club
- Arsenal have made a bid for the forward, as confirmed by the player himself
The two are in the same Nigeria squad for this summer’s international fixtures and Onyekuru has used the opportunity to ask about Arsenal.
The KAS Eupen forward is said to be close to joining Arsenal, though there could be complications over his work permit. There are also conflicting reports about whether Arsenal’s offer is real or not although the player believes that it is.
Despite that, Onyekuru is very happy about the reported offer and went to get more information about the club from Iwobi.
“He’s a nice fellow, who is open to all despite his star status in the team. We talked a bit about Arsenal and their manager Arsène Wenger, and he had nothing but praise for his manager and teammates,” he said to Own Goal Nigeria.
“Iwobi said they are like a family in the dressing room, and even the senior players treat the upcoming players like their equals. It was a very brief discussion, but he said a lot of good things about the club.”
Onyekuru is apparently a big Arsenal fan and would need little convincing to join the club.
Still, you can trust Iwobi, an Arsenal academy graduate, to give the club a ringing endorsement.
Should Onyekuru join the club, Iwobi could play a big role in helping him get settled.
