Kelechi Nwakali will join the Arsenal first team for pre-season ahead of next season.

• Nwakali spent last season on loan at VVV Maastricht after signing from Diamond Academy
• He’s expected to return to Arsenal for pre-season training on July 6th

Nwakali signed for Arsenal in 2016 after leading Nigeria to a World Cup triumph in the 2015 U17 World Cup.

He was immediately loaned out to second division Dutch side VVV Maastricht, where he impressed.

According to SCORENigeria, Nwakali is now expected to return to Arsenal for pre-season training on July 6th.

The midfielder could be training with the Arsenal first team ahead of the 2017/18 season. This would give him the opportunity to convince Arsene Wenger to include him in his squad for the upcoming tour of Australia.

If so, it’d be a good opportunity to watch young talent who is very highly rated.

After a successful loan spell, it’s likely that Nwakali will be loaned out again to continue gaining valuable first team experience.
