England Women were comfortable as they cruised to a 4-0 win over Switzerland during their friendly fixture on Saturday afternoon.

Jordan Nobbs’ curling effort from 20 yards broke the deadlock after half-an-hour. Chelsea’s Fran Kirby doubled their lead shortly before the interval. Then, Jodie Taylor’s 12-minute brace helped extend the Ladies’ commanding cushion as Mark Sampson’s side prevailed with another impressive victory.

Ranked third in Europe, England were excellent and ruthless with their opportunities on-goal as they came close on a number of occasions. Manchester City forward Toni Duggan, as well as Kirby, both hit the crossbar during a dominant display by the Lionesses.

These types of results are important ahead of a tricky European Championship tournament, set to start next month. England are unbeaten in their last three games and will go into their warm-weather training camp with renewed confidence that they can surprise a few by going all the way in Euro 2017 this summer.

Alex Scott completed the full 90 minutes, Taylor herself was replaced shortly after the hour mark by Manchester City’s Nikita Parris while midfielder Fara Williams was introduced as a second-half substitute.

Their next friendly fixture is against Denmark on July 1 and they’ll no doubt be keen to extend their unbeaten run with tougher opponents to come in future.
