Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic, once-linked with Arsenal, could be on his way to Manchester United this summer.

  • Arsenal were urged to sign Matic in 2014
  • The Serbian is keen on a reunion with Jose Mourinho

The Serbian midfielder could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge to reunite with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, according to the Daily Mail.

Arsenal were urged to sign Matic in 2014, with the midfielder earmarked to provide much-needed stability in the side. He played a crucial role as Chelsea won the league crown in 2014/15 and impressed in last season’s title triumph.

Matic was brought back to England by manager Jose Mourinho and is said to be keen to work with him again. Arsenal aren’t being closely linked this time round, but a player of the Serbian’s ability is said to be on the summer agenda.

With Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny likely to be sold this summer, Arsenal will need a replacement who can combined the combative attributes as well as a calm head in possession.
