Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses has reportedly urged talented youngster Henry Onyekuru to snub Arsenal and join West Ham this summer.

According to reports in the Metro and a Nigerian source, the 26-year-old is keen for his compatriot not to join one of the Blues’ title rivals.

Onyekuru netted 24 goals and created nine assists in 41 appearances last season and saw his stock rise after impressive goalscoring displays for KAS Eupen in the Belgian Pro League.

It appeared as though a deal was in place to sign the talented teenager for when he’d finished representing Nigeria on international duty with Alex Iwobi last week.

However, it now appears as though West Ham have acted quickly in attempts to pip Arsenal to the young forward.

At this stage in his career, it’s clear that he prefers regular minutes to a lucrative contract and Arsenal’s attacking depth highlights the lack of an extended opportunity he’d be afforded to showcase his quality next season.

There are no quotes published by either news report to support their claim, though it’s understandable that Moses wouldn’t want to see one of his rival clubs strengthen and would try his utmost to see it avoided if he could influence a player’s decision.
