Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has reportedly told the club that he wants to leave this summer, with Arsenal believed to be leading the chase for his signature.

As reported by the Daily Star, Martial is keen to exit Old Trafford after a disappointing season under Jose Mourinho, making 18 Premier League starts and scoring just four goals.

Arsenal were a club keen on signing him when he was back at Monaco, but the Red Devils secured a £36m deal to bring Martial to England where he enjoyed a dream debut season – 11 goals, four assists in 31 Premier League games in 2015/16.

Monaco’s Kylian Mappe is believed to be the Gunners’ first choice to bolster the attack this summer, but if Arsenal are unsuccessful in signing the teenager Martial will be next on the wish list.

Arsenal would likely have to pay more than £30m to sign Martial from Manchester United this summer as Mourinho won’t sell to a title rival for cheap.

In addition to the Londoners, Paris Saint-Germain of Ligue 1 are keen on bringing Martial back to France. Spanish La Liga side Valencia and German Bundesliga runners-up RB Leipzig are also interested.
