French forward Anthony Martial did not hold talks with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho over his future, after rumours emerged of a transfer request and potential switch to Arsenal.

  • Martial had been linked with Arsenal
  • He’s quelled the rumours on Twitter
  • Reports are now saying he didn’t have a meeting about his future

It’d been claimed that Martial was unhappy at Old Trafford and held discussions with Jose Mourinho about his future. This lead to speculation that he leave United this summer, with Arsenal touted as one of his destinations.

Since then, Martial and his entourage have denied any meeting ever taken place. This has been backed up by Mohamed Bouhafsi, a journalist working for French outlet RMC.

In his tweet, Bouhafsi says: “Anthony Martial or his entourage did not meet with Jose Mourinho or United leaders to talk about the player’s future.”

This, along with the player himself quashing rumours on Twitter, should put an end to speculation about Martial’s future. Martial would have been a fine signing for Arsenal, but it will remain a pipe dream for now.
