Lucas Perez has been linked with a move back to La Liga, with Deportivo La Caruna and Sevilla the most interested.

  • Lucas was severely underused during his time at Arsenal, despite his £17m fee
  • The striker understandably wants to leave this summer

According to Estadio Deportivo, Lucas is waiting for Sevilla to make an offer for him as he weighs up a return to Spain. His former club Deportivo La Caruna are also interested in taking him back but may struggle with the financial side of the deal.

Sevilla are in the market for a striker and do have an interest in Lucas. Their former sporting director, Monchi, made contacts with Lucas’ agent last year, but their new sporting director Oscar Arias has yet to do the same.

Lucas told Arsenal he wanted to leave after a season spent on the sidelines. Despite costing the club £17m and having a decent goal output when actually playing, the Spaniard was rarely used throughout the season.

It now seems that this was one very pricey panic buy. It’s very unlikely Lucas will still be at the club in August.
