Sead Kolasinac has revealed that he’s proud to be signing for Arsenal and wants to repay the confidence shown in him.

Arsenal finally announced the signing of Schalke left-back, Kolasinac, on Tuesday morning and the 23-year-old has admitted that while he spent some ‘sleepless nights’ pondering his future, he’s proud to be part of Arsene Wenger’s team.

The Bosnia international’s contract with his Bundesliga team had come to an end and Kolasinac claims that he saw this as the chance to start again at a new club, which he’s excited about.

While he’ll always have Schalke in his heart, he promises to repay the confidence Arsenal have shown in him.

“Schalke 04 stays in my heart,” he said via his official Facebook page.

“I thank you for your encouragement, your love, the strength you gave me. I won’t forget it all my life. I promise. Many, many people I met here, who became friends with me.”

Kolasinac was also linked with Manchester City and AC Milan, and has earned quite the reputation as a strong, physical player.

He can also play as wing-back, which will suit Wenger’s new system perfectly, and is apparently being viewed as Nacho Monreal’s long-term replacement.
