Arsenal are close to announcing the signing of Bosnian defender, Sead Kolasinac.

  • Kolasinac is set to join on a free transfer from Schalke
  • He could be earning £7.5m a year
  • The left back could play a big role in Arsenal’s new formation

The S*n state that Arsenal’s signing of Bosnian defender Sead Kolasnic will be announced imminently while information we have received here at Cannon Towers points to a Tuesday announcement if all goes according to plan.

The signing has been agreed for several weeks and the player will join the club when his contract with Schalke expires this summer.

Kolasinac could earn up to £7.5m a year at Arsenal and will play left wing-back in Arsenal’s new 3-4-2-1 formation.

With Nacho Monreal ageing and playing more at centre back and Kieran Gibbs potentially leaving the club, a left back was a necessary signing for Arsenal.

The 23-year-old is a strong defender that has developed as a wing back this season, managing three goals and five assists.

Kolasinac can also play as a traditional left back and as a centre back. He’ll bring versatility to Arsenal’s backline.
