Dutch manager and former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says he “doesn’t understand why” Premier League clubs aren’t rushing to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal.

Hasselbaink also added, as quoted by the Metro, that Arsenal should be looking to sign the combative individual as he’s the leader they’ve been desperate for. Speaking after Chile’s Confederations Cup semi-final victory over Portugal, he said:

“I don’t understand why an English team does not try to buy him, That is the kind of player you want to bring to the Premier League. That is the kind of character. That is the leader – that is exactly what Arsenal need.” Lee Dixon agreed with Hasselbaink, adding: “I would take him at Arsenal tomorrow,”

Vidal, 30, made 27 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern last season, scoring and creating six goals while helping the side to their fifth consecutive titles. He’s been linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena this summer but appears to be content in Germany with the side challenging on all four fronts.
