Former Arsenal striker and current BT Sport pundit Ian Wright wants either Robert Lewandowski, or Diego Costa should the Gunners lost Alexis Sanchez this summer.

Recent quotes from Alexis Sanchez have hinted that he’s keen to leave Arsenal in this summer, with Bayern Munich reportedly the preferred destination. The Gunners had previously revealed they would be open to keeping the Chilean international until the end of his deal in 2018 but may be forced to cash in if the player requests a transfer.

Sanchez would certainly be missed given he scored and created 34 goals in 38 Premier League appearances last season, and Ian Wright wants a world-class replacement should he be sold as a result, reports 101 Great Goals. Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, 28, scored 30 goals in 33 Bundesliga games, while Chelsea’s Diego Costa netted 20 goals in 35 Premier League outings.

Wright’s two picks to replace Sanchez are impressive, but the chances of attracting such stellar names to the Emirates Stadium without Champions League football next season will prove to be difficult. Costa has reportedly been told he’s surplus to requirements for next season and may be attainable. His wage demands might be a stumbling block, however.
