It’s bad news for Arsenal. Henry Onyekuru has decided to announce his Everton transfer, although he’s revealed the news before the club…

  • Onyekuru has joined Everton
  • He was apparently close to Arsenal and West Ham
  • The saga comes to an end

Onyekuru looked to be joining Arsenal a few weeks ago, before West Ham reportedly led the chase for his signature. But little progress was made from the Londoners and now he’s an Everton player.

The Nigerian forward decided he couldn’t wait for Everton to announce the signing and announced himself on Instagram, reports the Express. Onyekuru will spend next season on loan at Anderlecht before joining up with the Everton squad in 2018.

This had been something of a mini-saga with several twists and turns. Reports from Nigeria were convinced Onyekuru had agreed to join Arsenal, but then it emerged the deal couldn’t go ahead due to work permit issues.

While the chances of him signing for Arsenal seemingly faded away, West Ham emerged as the favourites to sign him. That didn’t happen, either. Everton had been very quiet during this process but have snuck in and signed what looks to be a very talented player.

Onyekuru scored 22 goals for KAS Eupen last season and could be a name to remember in the future.
