Hector Bellerin and Barcelona’s representatives have reportedly held talks and the Spaniard is now expected to speak with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger about leaving.

Since joining FC Barcelona, Ernesto Valverde has set his sights to strengthen his squad in order to challenge Real Madrid for La Liga title. With Sergi Roberto struggling with injury and poor form Barcelona are keen for a new first-choice option in the position.

The information comes from multiple sources in the Catalan press that Barcelona did contact Hector Bellerin and an agreement between the two parties has been reached. The player is expected to request a meeting with Arsene Wenger in order to try and push for the move.

Hector Bellerin has been on Barcelona’s radar for the last few years, and said in a recent interview: “I was lucky enough to take a chance on Arsenal. Things have gone well and now hearing this type of news about Barca is something which makes me happy, but it doesn’t depend on me.”

“It’s nice to know of interest from a club like Barca, the club where I grew up from a young age. For the moment I don’t know anything, I’m an Arsenal player and we will see what happens.”

Bellerin is currently on a £100k-a-week contract that runs until 2023, and Arsenal are certainly going to be reluctant to sell him. His asking price is believed to be in excess of £50m.
