Everton could go after Arsenal centre-back Calum Chambers if they’re unable to sign Burnley’s Michael Keane this summer.
- Chambers could be a backup option for Everton in case they can’t sign Keane
- Chambers spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough and has an uncertain future at Arsenal
- Newcastle, Southampton and Bournemouth are also interested
According to the Daily Star, there’s no shortage of interest in the England international, with Everton, Newcastle, Southampton and Bournemouth believed to be keen on his signature.
Burnley centre-back Michael Keane is top of Everton’s wishlist this summer but manager Ronald Koeman is prepared should they fail in their pursuit for the former Manchester United man
Chambers spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough and performed well despite being relegated. His future at Arsenal is uncertain as it’s unclear whether Arsene Wenger intends to use him more next season, setting a host of clubs on red alert.
With Arsenal potentially playing with three centre backs next season, Chambers could receive more first team opportunities. He could also fill in at right wing-back. However, another season on loan would surely put his long-term future at the club in doubt.
