Lyon striker, Alexandre Lacazette, has flown to the United States for his summer holiday, prompting speculation that a deal, if there is one, isn’t close.

Lacazette has recently been heavily linked with Arsenal for the second summer running, with the Gunners allegedly willing to cough up £60m to bring the 26-year-old to north London.

While Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United are all also said to have asked Lyon about the availability of the striker, who scored 37 goals in 45 appearances last season, Arsenal are still thought to be in pole position to sign him.

story trackerHowever, the France international shared a picture of himself at an LA Dodgers game on 20 June, indicating that he’s nowhere near where any negotiations could be taking place and suggesting that a deal could be further away than we thought.

Of course, he could just be catching some sun while his agent takes care of the business. But that’s just speculation on my part.

Recently, Lyon president, Jean Michel Aulas, claimed that no offers have been made for Lacazette, despite fake quotes still doing the rounds.

“Alexandre Lacazette was told he could leave and we had negotiations with Atletico. Things did not work out,” Aulas said.

“I don’t have any offers right now. I don’t know if he wants to leave.”
