Denis Suarez has said he wants to stay at Barcelona, despite reports of him being offered to Arsenal as part of a deal to sign Hector Bellerin.

  • Denis Suarez was one of three players offered to Arsenal for Hector Bellerin
  • Suarez has said he has no intention of leaving Barcelona

According to the Daily Star, Barcelona were reportedly prepared to offer the midfielder to Arsenal as part of their effort to bring Bellerin back to the Camp Nou. However, Suarez has told Spanish press he has no intention of leaving Barcelona this summer.

“Next season I will be at Barca come what may,” he said to Sport“It’s a different year, with a new manager and I’m really excited about proving to him that I have a place in the team. Like I said when I came back to Barca, I will fight to stay here for many years and to be a first team regular.”

This certainly doesn’t mark the end of the Barcelona’s pursuit of Bellerin, but it does suggest they will have to pay purely in cash. Arsenal have no intention of selling Bellerin this summer and while the Catalan press have made every effort to unsettle him, Bellerin remains committed to Arsenal for the time being.
