Arsenal legend David Seaman has said he would be happy if Joe Hart joined Arsenal.

  • Seaman says he’d be happy if Hart ended up at Arsenal
  • He believes that the sale of David De Gea to Real Madrid could set off a chain reaction
  • Says that Hart would want to be the undisputed number one wherever he goes

Hart’s future at Manchester City is in doubt after manager Pep Guardiola allowed him to go on loan at Torino for the season. His perceived lack of ball skills saw him replaced by Claudio Bravo.

Now it’s expected that Hart will leave for regular first team football and former Arsenal keeper David Seaman believes he could be involved in a chain reaction.

Speaking to FourFourTwo, Seaman said:

“Top clubs will be after him but it’s going to be a chain reaction because there’s all the speculation about David de Gea, whether he goes to Real Madrid or not.”

“If that happens there’ll be movement and at the moment it’s hard to see where Joe might end up, but if he came to Arsenal I’d be quite happy with that.”

However, Seaman believes Hart would not want to be in competition with anyone.

“But I don’t think that would be the position that Joe’s looking for you know, to be in competition with someone. I think he wants to go to a club and be their number one.”

Hart would face competition from Petr Cech at Arsenal, a battle he’d be unlikely to win. Arsenal are already losing Wojciech Szczesny and David Ospina due to being unable to offer them first team football, so it seems unlikely they would go for Hart.
