Arsenal were given somewhat of a transfer boost with reports that Chelsea are yet to complete a deal to sign AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.

As reported by Football.London, the 22-year-old was rumoured to be in England to finalise his deal with Chelsea. But his social media activity suggested otherwise, with a later post being located in Paris, France.

French radio station RTL reported that Bakayoko was in the capital on Monday but it seems they were misled given the midfielder was posting footage of himself in his home nation.

It’s potentially good news for Arsenal with the deal still incomplete as they have been looking to bolster their midfield options this summer. However, the Gunners have been stalling in the transfer market and are missing out on top targets.

Chelsea are believed to have agreed terms with the Monaco star for £35m this summer but while there’s a contract yet to be signed, Arsenal can still hijack the deal. It’s unlikely he would choose the Gunners over the defending champions, however.
