Chelsea are reportedly close to agreeing deals for Tiemoue Bakayoko and Romelu Lukaku, two players previously linked with Arsenal.

  • Bakayoko and Lukaku were linked with Arsenal
  • Chelsea are confident of wrapping up signings
  • Chelsea are also looking at Riyad Mahrez, also linked with Arsenal

The Monaco midfielder and Everton striker are close to finalising moves to Chelsea after they were both linked with Arsenal this summer. The pair could cost around £150m.

The Gunners reportedly had interest in Bakayoko back in March, while Lukaku has been repeatedly linked with Arsenal.

With the pair set to join Chelsea, according to the Standard, Arsenal will have to turn their attentions elsewhere in the transfer market.

Chelsea are also believed to be interested in Riyad Mahrez, another Arsenal target, to strengthen their attacking options but are yet to make an official bid.

Mahrez has been linked with Arsenal since his stellar performances for Leicester during their title winning season in 2015-16. He handed in a transfer request this summer.

With Chelsea close to confirming two players Arsenal had on their wishlist, this is perhaps a warning that if the Gunners wait around too long their targets will be snapped up by other clubs.
