Chelsea are reportedly close to the £60m signing of Alex Sandro from Juventus, a player Arsenal avoided due to the lofty asking price.
- Conte wants Sandro, once linked with Arsenal, as his star signing
- £60m is an enormous fee for a full back
- Kolasinac on a free suddenly doesn’t look too bad
Sandro is one of the best left backs in the world currently and would be a significant upgrade on Marcos Alonso, Chelsea’s current left wing back. And according to the Express, Chelsea are willing to spend more than £60m to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal had been linked with the full back before they signed Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer this summer. The £60m fee will be the biggest reason why the Gunners changed targets.
Sandro scored and created seven goals in 25 Serie A starts for Juventus last season, helping the Old Lady to the title and Champions League final. It looks like his last game for Juve will be the 4-1 defeat to Real Madrid in Cardiff.
