Antonio Conte and Arsene Wenger are both eyeing a move for Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez according to reports which also claim the Foxes value him at £50m.

Mahrez had a decent season for Leicester City, although it was nowhere near as spectacular as their title winning season a year earlier. This was, however, a squad-wide issue until the sacking of Claudio Ranieri.

The 26-year-old Algerian has remained on the radar of many big clubs in England, and both Chelsea and Arsenal remain very interested in his services according to reports.

Mahrez made a total of 48 appearances for the Foxe last season, getting on the score sheet 10 times and assisting another seven. Even though he didn’t reach the heights of the 15/16 season, he is still a very good player and his below-par performances was more likely a result of poor performances across the whole team.

With the player’s desire to leave, it will be hard for Leicester to keep him, despite a £50m price tag seemingly set to deter offers.

Antonio Conte is watching the player and Chelsea are believed to be in the driving seat to sign the player, just days after the press were saying the same about Arsenal.

Mahrez has openly admired the Blues describing them as “incredible club” and is thought to have an agreement with Leicester to allow him to leave for a Champions League club.

Arsene Wenger still doesn’t know the future of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil and reportedly sees Mahrez as a potential replacement.

The Algerian international has plenty of creativity could fit well at Arsenal’s current squad. But not at £50m.
