Barcelona have reportedly ended their pursuit of Hector Bellerin – for now at least.

  • They have been told Bellerin is not for sale repeatedly
  • Barca will turn their attention to Benfica’s Nelson Semedo
  • They will no doubt be back for Bellerin at some point

The Catalan club want to strengthen their options at right back and identified Bellerin as their main target.

However, according to AS, they’ve been told by Arsenal that Bellerin is categorically not for the sale.

According to the report, Arsenal feel they have no reason to sell a player that doesn’t want to leave the club.

Barcelona wanted Bellerin to ask to leave Arsenal to help the transfer, but he has no intention of doing so.

Bellerin signed a new contract last season that would keep him at Arsenal until 2023.

Barcelona will now look else where for a right and are reportedly looking at Benfica’s Nelson Semedo.

This could be good news, as it means we won’t have to endure any more Bellerin to Barcelona stories from the Spanish press.

For a short while, at least.
