Barcelona have decided a move for Hector Bellerin this summer would be “impossible” after being told by Arsenal that he wasn’t for sale.

  • Bellerin was one of Barcelona’s main targets this summer
  • Arsenal have told them that he is not for sale
  • Bellerin will not force a move away

The Catalan giants were targeting Bellerin as one of their big signings this summer but have now backed down after Arsenal refused to sell.

According to Football.London, Barcelona were told by Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis that Bellerin was not for sale, nor would the player try to force a move away from the Emirates Stadium.

There was some concern Bellerin was considering Barcelona after giving an interview to the Spanish press that suggested he would welcome a return to Catalonia. Reports emerged that Bellerin would ask Arsenal to let him leave the club this summer.

However, the player appears happy to stay and there’s no reason why he should be sold given the potential already shown. It seems Arsenal have fended Barcelona off, for the time being at least.
