Reports claim Arsenal are preparing a £54m bid for Alexandre Lacazette, despite the club president recently playing down exit talk.

  • Lacazette appears to be one of Arsenal’s main targets this summer
  • Lyon have not received any offers for the striker

The Lyon striker seems to be one of Arsenal’s main targets this summer, although Lyon’s president, Jean-Michael Aulas, denied that he had received any offers for him. Still, the Daily Star claims Arsenal are about to bid £54m for the striker.

Lacazette was close to joining Atletico Madrid as replacement for Antoine Griezmann before the deal broke down due to their transfer ban, and is reportedly attracting interest from Manchester United, Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund.

It remains to be seen if this will finally be the summer Arsenal sign him. Lacazette is one of several strikers linked with a potential switch to the Emirates and has been in fantastic form in the last year.

The 26-year-old scored 28 goals in 30 Ligue 1 appearances for Lyon in 2016/17, helping the side to the semi-finals of the Europa League.
