Arsenal are said to be among several European clubs looking at Swedish goalkeeper Pontus Dahlberg.

  • The IFK Gothenburg stopper has been impressing scouts
  • Spurs, PSG, Schalke and Bayer Leverkusen are interested
  • He’s valued at £2.3m

The 18-year-old has enjoyed a run of games in Sweden and has been impressing European scouts. And according to Fotbolldirekt, Arsenal are one of several clubs interested in signing him.

They face competition from the likes of Tottenham, PSG, Schalke and Bayer Leverkusen. The report claims Gothenburg have put a £2.3m price tag on the 18-year-old and would be keen to sell in order to ease their financial difficulties.

Standing at 6’3”, Dahlberg is already an imposing height, and has one cap for the Swedish U21 side. One potential problem for Arsenal, however, is not being able to offer Dahlberg much first-team football.

With Cech as number one, Ospina as number two and Martinez playing in cup matches, there’s not much room in the first team for Dahlberg. That could change if Ospina leaves the club the summer.
