Arsenal are reportedly in talks with Olympique Lyonnais over the availability of striker Alexandre Lacazette this summer, and it’s believed a £44m bid could be enough to sign him.

According to Sky Sports, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas slapped a £44m asking price on the centre-forward’s head and told him he can leave this summer. However, Lacazette has said he’d only join a side in the Champions League next season which may harm Arsenal’s chances.

Lacazette, 26, has enjoyed a standout campaign, scoring 37 goals in 45 games in all competitions, while leading Lyon to the semi-finals of the Europa League. He was given permission to end a lengthy stay at Parc OL when Atletico Madrid made an approach, and it appears he’ll be sold this summer if the deal is right for club and player.

Arsenal have options in attack for next season, but they’re looking for a ruthless finisher who has the mobility to stretch defences and get on the end of through balls. Lacazette could be a bargain at £44m as a result given he fits the bill of a striker Arsenal are looking for, let alone his 119 goals in over 200 games for Lyon.
