Arsenal reportedly face some fierce competition if they want to sign Monaco winger, Thomas Lemar, this summer.
- Liverpool join Arsenal in the race for Lemar
- Arsenal step up chase for Lemar with bid said to be imminent
- Liverpool, Tottenham, and Juventus all interested in Lemar
According to Telefoot, Tottenham, Liverpool and Juventus are all keen on Lemar, who was brilliant for Monaco last season, scoring 14 goals and assisting 17.
The 21-year-old has apparently emerged as one of Arsene Wenger’s top transfer targets this summer as he looks to revamp his squad. However, the Frenchman will have his work cut out if he’s going to entice £25m Lemar to the red side of north London.
Juventus, while interested, reportedly see Lemar as back-up if they don’t sign their main man Douglas Costa from Bayern Munich. Similarly, Liverpool are set to signing Roma winger, Mohamed Salah, having already had one offer of £28m knocked back.
It’s therefore thought that their alleged interest in Lemar isn’t as serious as Arsenal and Tottenham’s.
Spurs then technically have the advantage, since they can offer the France international Champions League football. They finished second in the Premier League last season and, at the moment, many might view them as the more attractive prospect.
However, you can never underestimate The Wenger Factor™ when it comes French players.
