Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is the bookies’ favourite to join Arsenal this summer, and could well leave the Etihad Stadium if Pep Guardiola can’t guarantee him first-team football.

According to football.london, Arsenal are planning a busy summer after manager Arsene Wenger extended his deal with the club and promised to spend accordingly to sustain a Premier League title challenge.

The Gunners are believed to be shopping for a striker who can take them from fifth-place in the division to the top, and a player with 122 goals in the Premier League would be high on their wishlist.

Sergio Aguero’s future at Manchester City is in doubt despite manager Pep Guardiola insisting he will stay for next season. The Argentine centre-forward is not guaranteed a starting place due to the competition in attack and may seek a move this summer as a result.

The 28-year-old scored 20 goals in 25 Premier League starts in 2017/18 but found himself playing second fiddle to Gabriel Jesus for a period of the season. He won’t want to be sitting on his bench in the peak years of his career and may consider another Premier League side if they are ambitious enough.

SkyBet have Arsenal as favourites to sign Aguero this summer, but there has been no official approach made yet.
