Arsenal fans have reacted to the news that Yaya Sanogo will leave this summer.
- Sanogo’s injury-hit Arsenal career will come to an end
- Many laughs were had at his expense
The French striker arrived from Auxerre with the reputation of being a fantastic player on Football Manager but it became quickly apparent that he wasn’t quite good enough for Arsenal.
Unfortunately, any chance Sanogo had of developing into a decent player was curtailed by several injuries. He also failed to make an impression out on loan, and languished in the U23 team.
Now, at 24, Sanogo will leave when his contract expires this summer.
It’s safe to say that the Arsenal supporters will be sad to see him go.
What kind of people would let Sanogo go? Cruel bastards…

Yaya Sanogo is set to leave AFC this summer and frankly, I'm gutted. Will never forget his 4 goals against Benfica. A sad day for football.

In his illustrious four years, Sanogo managed 20 first team appearances and just one competitive goal. These appearances included starts against Bayern Munich and Hull City in the 2014 FA Cup final.
His brightest moment in an Arsenal shirt came against Benfica in the 2015 Emirates Cup. In a 6-1 victory, Sanogo bagged himself four goals in what was one of the most surreal displays of goalscoring in modern times.
Sanogo summed himself up as player by slipping over during the celebration for his fourth goal.

One Arsenal fan even suggested we try a cheeky swap deal.
Swap sanogo for mbappe

Indeed, Monaco could spend that £100m from Mbappe’s sale elsewhere should they snap Sanogo up on a free. Perhaps we could even get a discount for recommending him to them.
In the end, it doesn’t always work out for young players at the club. Sanogo was a great source of entertainment for Arsenal fans.
We should wish him well for the future.
