Arsenal have been encouraged following news that Nice could sell Ivorian playmaker Jean-Michael Seri for €20m.

  • Nice have reportedly set a €20m asking price for Seri
  • Seri also has a €40m release clause
  • Roma, Spurs, and PSG are also interested

According to France Football, Nice could sell Seri if clubs meet their €20m valuation.

Roma were reported to have made a €20m bid, but France Football believe it was lower than that.

Nice’s chairman confirmed that Seri has a €40m release clause, and that the player would only leave for that amount.

However, these reports seem to suggest that the Nice chairman is only taking a tough stance on the transfer, and that in reality the player could go for far less.

That would be encouraging for Arsenal who, along with Spurs and PSG, are interested in signing him.

Arsenal could do with strengthening the midfield this summer and Seri, who scored seven goals and managed nine assists last season, looks a good option.
